EAST LONDON HOLIDAY REVIEWS
East London
East London - Jack. Date of travel: Jul 2008
East London. Was just a convenient stop on route to Cape Town. I dug it though. Chill beach with rocks I could hide within and sing loudly to the waves. Buccaneers is the night spot, and Sugar Shack is the sleeping spot, and they live right next door to each other. 4 days finished me off though. A surfer was there for a while. He said it had some decent waves.

Great Beach Villages - Gina Stewart. Date of travel: Mar 2008
East London is more like a town than a city. Apparently everything is within a seven minute drive at the most, whether it be the beach, the mall or the golf course. We stayed at a friend's house in Beacon Bay, he had a great cabin on one of the rivers and we would wake up to lovely birdsong and vervet monkeys crashing through the trees. There aren't many sights in East London but for some reasonably priced clothing shopping Vincent Mall is a good bet and Ocean Basket is a yummy fish restaurant that's a great place for lunch or dinner. The best areas for a holiday are just outside of East London. We stayed in Cinsta where the water was so warm. You can paddle on the river, go fishing up the beach and just relax in what we felt was an untouched part of South Africa. The N2 highway that takes you from Cape Town to East London is an excellent road with beautiful scenery. You can bungy jump at Gouritz or Bloukrans (the highest bridge bungy in the world) or visit the many game reserves that flank the N2 such as Addo Elephant Park, Tsitsikamma or Shamwari but probably have to arrange that before leaving Cape Town.
