COSTA DEL SOL HOLIDAY REVIEWS
Costa Del Sol
Literally the “sunny coast” of Spain, the Costa del Sol lines the country’s Malaga province and virtually guarantees a first-class beach holiday under blue skies all year round. Spiced with traditional Spanish festivals and architecture, but well-equipped too with all the “mod-cons” demanded of 21st century tourists, the sandy beaches here are just the bench-markmore

Torreblanca - Campbell Family. Date of travel: May 2009
Torreblanca is an area just to the side of Fuengirola. It's close enough to areas like Benalmedena and easy enough to catch buses to and from busier resorts. It has a nice seafront and the beach is very clean and safe.

Cement Jungle - Margot Hinz. Date of travel: May 2008
Costa del Sol must have been an amazing place to visit in the past but nowadays it's a cement jungle of never ending white holiday villas. It's a pity that Spain fell into the trap of thinking only of the money it could make by bringing in hordes of tourists. Of course it has it's good points, if you like that sort of thing, but a little disappointing.

Port de la Selva - Creme and Eliot families. Date of travel: Jun 2006
Selva is a lovely small town at the very top of the Costa del Sol and is free from the trappings of most tourist orientated towns in the area. Lovely beach (lying on the beach at 10pm??? crazy! and warm sea water). Easy to walk around and take in the sights. Stayed in a small apartment, had everything we needed and was walking distance to beach. Pretty marina with some good restaurants. Perfect for a relaxing getaway! Tour Operator: Own

Fuengirola - AbsB. Date of travel: Apr 2006
Although it was possible to walk into town from the apartment, it does take about half an hour but its very cheap to take the bus and explore the town which had surprisingly good shopping, including a massive market and my favourite... a water park!! The buses are very regular and very cheap, enabling you to visit other places without the need for a car, including Selwo Aquatic park and other towns along the coast such as Benelmadia Costa Fuengirola Zoo is a little gem, you'd hardly know it was there from outside but is great for half a day out. Loads of places to eat cheaply and all in all a great holiday destination! Tour Operator: My Travel

Kate and Denis. Date of travel: Aug 2004
Puerto de la Duquesa really is the Costa del Sol's best-kept secret. Although within only an hour from Malaga airport, it seems like a thousand miles away from the throng of the traditional holiday resorts, offering an unparalleled quality of life in Spain. There's a great selection of bars and restaurants around the marina and there are enough shops and banks that you don't have to leave at all if you don't want to. Tour Operator: Independent
