Tenerife
Renowned for its scenery and year-round summer weather, Tenerife is a volcanic island, part of the Canary archipelago administered by Spain. Offering excellent beaches (some of them man-made and others with natural black volcanic sand), as well as the towering snow-capped Mount Teide, a Tenerife holiday offers a variety of activities and experiences, from watersportsmore
Puerto De La Cruz holiday - Kate Lawson & Dean Farmer. Date of travel: Feb 2009
There are some great beaches at Puerto De La Cruz. Our favourite is Playa de las Teresitas where the sand was imported from the Sahara! We were never quite brave enough to go to the nude beach at Las Gavistas! For activities our kids loved the Lago de Martianez swimming pools which are clean and admission's not expensive. Because we go self catering we choose to eat out in town most nights. There's restaurants to suit everyones tastes.
Tenerife holiday - Marcus Newman & family.. Date of travel: Jan 2009
This is one of our favourite holiday spots. We've been returning here for 10 years and never get bored. There's always somewhere new to explore. Of course the weather is great year round and depending on your tastes there's accomodation to suit everyone. A visit to Mount Teide is an absolute must.

I won't be returning to Tenerife. The property touts are a nightmare and very aggressive and they really made it almost impossible to leave the hotel. Tour Operator: Sovereign
Beautiful Alcalar - Lyn Egginton. Date of travel: Apr 2005
Breaking with tradition this year, we stayed in a villa in a beautiful town called Alcalar, near to Puerto de Santiago. Alcalar is a typical Spanish town with a few bars and 2 excellent restaurants. It also has some very upmarket shops to browse around and a wonderful ice cream parlour and patisserie. There is a town square and a beautiful church and the locals are very friendly and went out of their way to pass the time of day with us. I would certainly recommend this resort if you want a break away from it all. Car hire is not essential as local taxis are very reliable and cheap. Tour Operator: First Choice

Give Laguna park 2 a miss; go for Laguna park 1 if you have a choice in Tenerife. Tour Operator: Airtours
Janice Creamer. Date of travel: Jan 2005
Tenerife (Playa des Americas) is a very clean and lively place. Everybody friendly, cheap goods and food if self catering. As we some times ate when we were out sight seeing. There is lots to see both night and day. Tour Operator: Thomas Cook

why no input on puerto de la cruz, I think it is the best on the island, busy but not hectic and something for all ages to do.
