I won't be returning to Tenerife. The property touts are a nightmare and very aggressive and they really made it almost impossible to leave the hotel. Tour Operator: Sovereign
Beautiful Alcalar - Lyn Egginton. Date of travel: Apr 2005
Breaking with tradition this year, we stayed in a villa in a beautiful town called Alcalar, near to Puerto de Santiago. Alcalar is a typical Spanish town with a few bars and 2 excellent restaurants. It also has some very upmarket shops to browse around and a wonderful ice cream parlour and patisserie. There is a town square and a beautiful church and the locals are very friendly and went out of their way to pass the time of day with us. I would certainly recommend this resort if you want a break away from it all. Car hire is not essential as local taxis are very reliable and cheap. Tour Operator: First Choice

Give Laguna park 2 a miss; go for Laguna park 1 if you have a choice in Tenerife. Tour Operator: Airtours

Tenerife (Playa des Americas) is a very clean and lively place. Everybody friendly, cheap goods and food if self catering. As we some times ate when we were out sight seeing. There is lots to see both night and day. Tour Operator: Thomas Cook

why no input on puerto de la cruz, I think it is the best on the island, busy but not hectic and something for all ages to do.
