Kanchanaburi
A Cheap holiday in Thailand - Esabe Mrais. Date of travel: Dec 2008
My girlfriends and I spent two weeks on vacation in Thailand this summer in Kanchanaburi. We were on a tight budget – but that did not matter! Our summer break was such bliss – the accommodation was so cheap, not to mention how reasonably priced food and transport were. In Kanchanaburi, we stayed at the Jolly Frog- there was no hot water, but it was great none the less!
Kanchanaburi - don't miss it - Joe and Sue. Date of travel: Apr 2008
This holiday we went over to Kanchanaburi - planned staying 2 nights - stayed a week. It's a great little place, loads to do, not many tourists. The highlight for me was a day spa - Suan Nanachaat. We went for a massage on our first evening and after the massage booked in for the full day package - over 6 hours of pampering (for the price of 1 hour in UK). It was a wonderful day - very, very relaxing. The owners and staff are so warm and friendly, we really felt at home there. They have a free taxi as it's a bit out of the town, our guesthouse Ploy, where we found their brochure called and booked for us. The spa is built in a garden, the view of the mountains was lovely, it can be a bit noisy on the river and this garden location was just so peaceful. For good Indian food look opposite Blue Star guesthouse - made a nice change. Ploy GH is mid range 600 Baht a night.
