Dubai
World travellers have coined the rhyming phrase “Dubai – to buy”, because that is just what most folks come to holiday in Dubai for: a shopping spree par excellence in this tax-free environment where you can obtain everything AND the kitchen sink! Beyond the acres of malls, markets and shopping plazas, Dubai also offers somemore

Dubai here I come!!!! - Betty. Date of travel: Dec 2008
Dubai here I come!!!!
Dubai is the Perfect wow spot for shops, sun, nightlife, sightseeing, restaurants, hotels... the lot. We had no clue what to expect but after 90 minutes in passport control we were on an upward spiral. Travel, food etc. so reasonable, the more you spend the more you save! 21 days of sunshine thrown in and it is so safe with no crime, and no topless sunbathing as we soon learned! Friendliness, prices and cleanliness second to none.
AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL - Emirates airline - Jacob. Date of travel: Sep 2008
Dubai was interesting, but do not take EMIRATES, they are TERRIBLE! They lost our luggage, and then were completely unhelpful and basically told us to p**s off. Do not take them, they will rob you and then treat you like garbage afterwards.

Modern Dubai is punctuated with gardens and sprinkled with stylish stores. As well as superb duty-free shopping and numerous inexpensive restaurants. Dubai offers a wealth of activities, whether you are a shopping enthusiast, sports legend, adventure lover or culture buff. You could always go dune driving, horse riding, exploring the valleys, tennis and polo. Water sports abound this beautiful setting from silent snorkelling to powerboat racing. In addition, it offers impressive sightseeing opportunities- a trip on one of the traditional ‘ abrars’ a terrific way to soak up the local atmosphere. Experience a quiet break in a luxury mountain hideaway or choose a resort with its own beach club and golf facilities nearby. I wrote that all by myself. Yes thank, you you can clap if you'd like...
BAR BARI, the best terrace in DUBAI - Silvia. Date of travel: Dec 2007
BAR BARI, the best terrace in DUBAI
In Dubai there are hundreds of big hotels, and any of them has got many many restaurants and bars, accessible to guest and anybody who wants to visit. The best spot to have a drink however is for sure the Bar Bari, in the luxury hotel Mina Al Salaam. It has got the best terrace ever, with a stunning view on the famous Burj Al Arab. It is just over a large canals system where little boats circulate and sometimes there is a band playing on a stage in the water. Drinks are good the place is smart and prices affordable, however, you will feel like an Arabic king in a One thousand and one nights dream!
Perfect winter holiday destination - Bas Nicole. Date of travel: Oct 2007
Perfect winter holiday destination
Dubai is a great winter break destination – sunshine is all but guaranteed, there is a choice of outstanding hotels and restaurants, pristine beaches, warm sea, famously good shopping, and all within reasonable flying time of the UK. Cultural attractions may be lacking, but that is not what Dubai is about - what it does, it does very well.
Loved Dubai - Jeff & Marie Jones. Date of travel: Sep 2007
With all the building work that is going on at the moment Dubai is a place that is most deifintely up and coming but maybe a place that disabled people would find hard to get around at the moment but, having said that, the people of Dubai are kind and most willing to help at all times. The service at the Renaissance Hotel Dubai was second to non and the staff were on hand to help in any way possible 24/7.
Busy Place - Francesca Moore. Date of travel: Jul 2007
There are many good points to Dubai, including the vast amount of shopping malls with all the designer names. However, you read on all the websites that clothes are so much cheaper due to duty free, but I have to say I did not find them any different to here in the UK. However, on a plus side, I love shopping and cannot believe the size of the malls (One of them even has a ski slope, can you imagine 40 degree heat outside and a ski slope inside).

Dubai -City of the Future. Dubai is one city to be watched. It changes every year. During the 20th century, Dubai underwent a total transformation – from a small fishing village to a bustling world-class business center. This zero-income tax and zero-crime city is one of the seven emirates that make up the United Arab Emirates. The ruler of Dubai is Sheikh Mohammad bin Rashid Al Maktoum, a visionary par excellence and a scion of the Al Maktoum family which has ruled emirate since 1833. Dubai is a rare melting pot of cultures. Here the immigrants vastly outnumber the locals and it is estimated that over a hundred nationalities live here in perfect harmony. The city is a shopper’s delight. The shopping malls are mind-boggling. The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF), an annual month-long shopping extravaganza attracts visitors from all parts of the world. Women tourists and children can go to the Global Village on Women’s day, when only women and children are admitted. The multitudes of black-robed women present a glorious spectacle that is not visible on the other days. Many of them unveil their faces too as they have no fear of prying male glances. The Dubai Gold Souk has no parallel anywhere in the world. A casual visit will reveal that all that glitters is indeed gold. The Burj-al-Arab, a 7-star hotel, the Dubai Palm, the Jumeirah mosque, the Jebel Ali Free Zone, the Dubai Internet City, the Knowledge Village, and the Dubai Media City are some the prestigious locations in town. Tourist attractions include desert safaris, dune-bashing, camel races, falconry, barbecues and belly dances and cruises on the Dubai creek. No travel-freak can afford to miss Dubai.
