The NewcastleGateshead Quayside with its 7 different but equally beautiful bridges was the highlight of my round Britain trip. It is easily one of the best waterfront in Europe. Highlights are the Gateshead Millennium Bridge - a footbridge that opened like a giant eyelid to let ships pass and the Sage Gateshead - a curvy steel and glass concert hall.
