• SOUTH WEST HOLIDAY REVIEWS

South West
Lois Smalley. Date of travel: Jul 2003
I find it hard to believe that no-one has yet written a review for the South-West. We have been going there, on and off, for many years, and love it, especially Devon and Cornwall. We take our own touring caravan and have stayed on a few different sites, but we do have our favourites. Tregarton Park, near to Gorran Haven and Mevagissey, is a lovely site, very well run and well looked after. The shower/toilet blocks are very good, there is an outdoor swimming pool with sun-beds, and a tennis court has recently been added. If you look in the right place, you can even get a tiny little glimpse of the sea! There are lots of things to do in Cornwall, including Goonhilly, to see the radio telescopes, and the seal sanctuary at Gweek. Lands End may have been over-commercialised, but it's still worthy of a visit, especially if you have children. There are several attractions (chargeable), and the small farm is great for children, and you can still find the real Lands End around the back of the complex. The Lizard peninsula is also very beautiful, especially Kynance Cove. The tin mining history of the county is a vital part of it`s being, so a visit to a tin mine is a must, and Geevor is very good. We visited there whilst staying at the site at Kelynack, near St. Just-in- Penwith, a nice site, but very quiet, not for the lively minded. Tour Operator: Ourselves
