The village of Luss is on the shores of the beautiful Loch Lomond.It gets a bit crowded when the coaches disgorge their day-trippers, but it is still worth a visit. There`s a good-sized car park, and ample refreshment facilities, and boat trips to be had. A good day out was to Glencoe, scene of the famous(or infamous) massacre of the McDonalds by the Campbells.The mountains are really impressive and awe-inspiring, there`s such an atmosphere around there. The visitor centre is very good, with commentaries in several languages. The Scottish sea-life centre isn`t the best I`ve been to, but it`s the best situated, right on a loch shore, and they have a very good breeding programme for sea horses on the go. They are enchanting little creatures. For a good choice of gift shops, you could do worse than take a trip to Callender in the Trossachs, last year they even had a Christmas shop open in July!
