Pensacola
The city of Pensacola on the Gulf Coast is a hugely popular Florida resort, but unlike the rest of this holiday state Pensacola relies on real, rather than man-made, historic and natural attractions to entertain vacationers. Set around soft white sandy beaches and offering an atmospheric blend of Spanish, French and Victorian architecture, a holidaymore
Pensacola - Tom Mullen. Date of travel: May 2007
Pensacola is stunning! It's how I imagine Florida must have been before the theme park destinations. I have travelled to many places including Austrailia and the Caribbean but the beaches in Pensacola are probably the best I have ever seen, sugar white sand that squeaks when you walk on it and the water: the colours are mesmorising. Downtown is great, Seville Square and its festival are just fantstic. Good choice of bars and restuarants too. If you visit make sure you visit Perdido Key to the west of the city. It is a stunning place.
Pensacola Beach is beautiful!! - Sara Connor. Date of travel: Jan 1970
The Pensacola water is emerald green and the sand is pure white. The dolphins swimming by at dusk were a treat for me. There are several great restaurants here but my favorite is Sidelines. The portions are huge and the prices are not. There are many shops and a great fishing pier. While in the area I recommend canoeing one of the many rivers. Blackwater River and Coldwater Creek are 2 of the best. They both have the pure white sand and its an alternative to the beach. They are about an hour drive.
