There was something special about the feel of being in the middle of downtown historic Savannah ... enjoying the classic inn surroundings and kind attention to our young children. Not only did we encounter Southern hospitality at its best, we were reminded ... with the elegant furnishings, and the old charm of Savannah, of what life in the past was like. While the inn is uniquely beautiful, the historic city was mesmerizing to the children. The pigeons and squirrels came to eat bread from my son's hand. SCAD students were playing frisbee with their dogs in Forsyth Park. The Dolphin Tour was a highlight! We purchased kites on River Street and flew them in Forsyth Park. Savannah is a great place for snacks -- Italian Gelahtoo in City Market, Leopold's Ice Cream on Broughton Street, and lunch at Firefly. The children were fascinated with the pets in the out of doors at streetside cafes. An amazing couple of days. We're going back!
