Baton Rouge
Built atop a swamp overlooking the mighty Mississippi River, Baton Rouge is the state capital of Louisiana, standing proudly amid a countryside blanketed with sugar cane plantations. Baton Rouge started life several hundred years ago as a rather rough and ready town where riverboat casinos moored; today the fun spots remain to entertain those whomore holiday in Baton Rouge, but they have been joined but some more sober attractions like museums, art galleries and theatres.
