I travelled to Dallas-Fort Worth for business so I didn't get to see much of the city, however the streets are very confusing. The front desk tried to explain to me the way that the street system is different, but I just gave up on trying to understand.

Fort Worth is such a great "True TEXAS" city with its twinkling lights in the tree lined Sundance Square, downtown Fort Worth, and its interesting and varied historical neighborhoods with the "classy look" of the past. A GREAT and very unheard of TEXAS CELEBRATION is held in the Fort Worth Historic Stockyards each March 2nd. Since Texas is the ONLY STATE TO HAVE WON ITS INDEPENDENCE FROM A FOREIGN COUNTRY, MEXICO, and was a SOVEREIGN NATION FOR 9 YRS.,IT HAS THE RIGHT TO CELEBRATION BIG TIME! It was a very usual chance of events allowing Sam Houston and his Texas Army of volunteers to capture Santa Anna and Win Independence when the LARGER AND BETTER TRAINED MEXICAN ARMY OF 2,000 had just days earlier Crushed the ALAMO WITH ITS 178 MEN. If you can make this great Celebration in 2006, it will be held in the Historic Stockyards at 5 pm in front of the Exchange Building, 131 E. Exchange Ave, with a Rembrance of winning Independence followed at 6 pm with a Dinner and Show in the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame and Museum across the street. The funds raised will be for 3 scholarships for the youth learning to perform the "Old Western" music which the Cowtown Opry preserves by giving concerts each Sun. 2 p.m. in front of the Exchange Bldg, Historic Stockyards. Fort Worth is the gem of the metroplex with a high sense of community, natural beauty, and charm that only exist in a few cities I have ever been too. The people in Ft Worth care about the city, and it shows. There is plenty of fun things to do like sundance square, the stockyards, the new modern art musuem, the kimball, hike the trinity river trails, view historic neighborhoods, watch college football, go to a Texas Ranger game, or to one of the many surrounding lakes and nature parks. Many have described it as the Austin of the north, and the Vancouver of the south, and one thing it is notl like is the flashy, pretentious, and ultimately boring city that Dallas can be.
