- Our hotel in Salt Lake City sold super passes to all of the local resort ($52 includes cost of ski bus and can be bought daily - check with your hotel) at a rate that was as cheap as any other discount provider. We picked up $50 discount tickets for the Canyons at Costco. The other resorts in PC we ended up paying full cost - $78.
We rented a car but with the transit system in Utah using the bus would have been just as easy (especially in Park City - its free). Buses came regularily past the hotel and the drivers were extremely helpful. In Salt Lake City the ski bus stopped right in front of the Hotel but we also drove to the park & ride and caught the bus into the canyons. You may have to stand if the bus is full and it is a 1 hour ride from downtown SLC. With the super pass the bus fare is included otherwise its $3.25 each way. - Leo Hall

I grew up in Idaho, so Salt Lake was the once every few year big city experience. So this is what I have to say... As a kid there is the theme park Lagoon, which is awesome. For the area it is the top, until you venture to Vegas or LA. Raging Waters is the water park there, and I liked that even better. The other water park in the city doesn't measure up. These days I still dig the city. A strange people there, about 1/2 Mormons. A lot of prejudice around them but I like them in general. Friendly and starry eyed. A tour of the temple was cool to understand more. The city also hosts some solid comedy. The music is there, but hard to find. But.. the mountains and woods and all those activities for all those types of people, is right there. I like the mountains in the other western states better but hey, I don't complain when I'm in those in Utah. About 6 hours south of Salt Lake is Moab, and that is an unreal place. The surrounding area contains one of my favorite spots on earth. The Colorado Plateau. This is the Apache land, with desert, Grand Canyon's, mesas, rock arches and pillars, gorges, and... Spring and Fall for ideal temperatures.
Nice place to visit. Skiing was Great. - Leo Hall. Date of travel: Feb 2008
Spent 4 days in Salt Lake City. We skied Snowbird & Bighton. I think Snowbird had the best terrain. The other resorts were good but did tend to have some flat spots which required a fair bit of pushing/skating. We rented a car but, with the transit system in Utah, using the bus would have been just as easy. Cities looked prosperous, people were friendly and hospitable - a nice place to visit. Family History Library was very interesting.
