Southern Utah - Chad. Date of travel: Dec 2007
Sputhern Utah is one of my favorite places on earth. I'm not a biker but I'm willing to bike in New York City and here. Still I prefer the walking and wandering. Moab, Bryce Canyon, and Canyonlands are my favorite. The others areas are amazing too, but I only have so many words so I'm going to keep this small. Moab- a good supply town and base. With great tours and independent hiking and biking all around. Rafting here as well. Bryce Canyon is stunning. I toured the rim. They have a free bus service. I was there in the winter and the bus wasn't running so I can't say anything about it. But snow in the canyon was spectacular. One of those rare moments where my mind is actually quiet for a few minutes. I went on a hike down in the pillars as well. Amazing, yeah, an experience without many words. Canyonlands is amazing but there is a trail in particular, the Joint Trail. One of the most moving walks I've been on. Free camping right outside the park on the BLM land.
