KITZBUHEL HOLIDAY REVIEWS
Kitzbuhel
Austria’s best known ski resort, Kitzbuhel is overrun by jolly crowds of visitors during the ski season, but the enchanting 9th Century Alpine town takes it in good stride - the dozens of upmarket stores, wild nightlife and glitzy hotels not detracting from the town’s quaint cobbled appeal. A holiday in Kitzbuhel means sleigh bellsmore

Kitzbuhel was an amazing holiday choice for us this year. When we weren't skiing there were so many other things to see and do. We loved the shops, and especially enjoyed the Christmas Market. Our favourite outing was the balloon trip though, the mountain views from up there were fantastic! The London Pub was great but you got to watch out for those cocktails... Kitzbuhel was a bit busy but that's to be expected in December/January I guess.

I can remember spending two full winters in Kitzbuhel back in 1964, during the Innsbruck Olympics. The nightlife was fabulous even then, with the Tenne Reich in full swing for happy hour. There, I learned to ski the Austrian technique. Fake artist Elmyr Dory Boutin, Toni Sailor, and actor Albert Finney were among my acquaintances there, as well as ski instructors, Horrible Hans and Gerhard Ortner. Those were wonderful times!
