ST ANTON HOLIDAY REVIEWS
St Anton
Renowned for its top class off-piste runs and its rollicking collection of pubs and clubs, a holiday in St Anton is popular with particularly British skiers and snowboarders, who enjoy the local beer as much as they do the sport. Not a great place for beginners, St Anton is better suited to more experienced skiersmore

St Anton - Simon. Date of travel: Apr 2009
St Anton is a great resort, fantastic well connected and efficient infrastructure. Good for advanced skiers, not so good for beginners. Can get icy on north facing slopes. Well maintained runs and plenty of off-piste. A little on the expensive side compared to other European resorts: think Central London prices.

St Anton is very pretty. Had a good holiday here. Keen to try out more of the Austrian resorts, but I'll definitely be back here in the near future!

St Anton, the Brigadoon of Austria - Bernie Wilkes, Margaret Wilkes. Date of travel: Aug 2006
St Anton only comes awake in the winter, it does not want to fully cater for its guests in the summer, with most of its shops and restaurants and bars being closed. There is always the exception and this was the Shrieder bar opposite the sport hotel, where we were met with warmth and friendliness from the staff, and the locals who used the bar. We were served good food and beer at reasonable prices, certainly a big plus to our holiday.

Crazy - Hugh Roche. Date of travel: Jan 2006
Went skiing in St Anton last year. It's a great choice, wonderful skiing, scenery and fantastic nightlife. It's packed with Brits, but the Austrians are also excellent fun. Apres ski is taken very seriously here, everyone congregates in the bars on the lower slopes after a day's skiing and begins drinking those massive litre-sized steins of lager. Austrians go mad, jumping around on tables. The Crazy Kangaroo is the best bar, but involves a short ski down to town at the end, a challenge for some. The St Anton ski pass also covers Lech and Zurs and a good bus service links them up. There's lots of variety and plenty for everyone, from beginner to advanced skier. And some quite good mountain restaurants. We'll be going back, and spending our next ski holiday in St Anton.
