Nassau - New Providence Island
Nassau, on New Provindence Island, is the capital city of the Bahamas, where historic colonial buildings join modern tourist facilities to cater for the thousands who holiday here and on nearby Paradise Island - connected to the city by bridge and ferry. The quaint downtown is filled with historic colonial sights, but most of themore action surrounds the Straw Market and duty-free shopping precincts.
