Bruges
Bruges is Europe's best preserved medieval city and attracts over a million mainly British holiday makers each year. Bruges has lots of chocolate shops - buy from the chocolateries as they sell the freshest chocolate. Pretty, interesting buildings. Great choice of restaurants.

Beautiful Bruges
Bruges is a great weekend-break destination from England and easy to get to. Just take the ferry to nearby Zeebrugge. Once there just walk around and soak up the sights and galleries - there are lots of them. Alternatively take a break from walking and take a horse and carriage ride through the town, complete with a history lesson on the city from the driver. There are lots of bars and cafes, some are a bit touristy but there are also some real gems. And the food is really fantastic.
Worth a visit - Kevin. Date of travel: Aug 2007
Bruges is a very old city, and it's obvious that the locals are very proud of what they have and will do all they can to keep it the way it is. The first thing I noticed is that there were no loud music bars. Bruges is not the sort of place you will find the stag or hen parties travelling to. If you don't want to sight see don't go, it's the sort of place you go to admire the scenery. On the negative side there were far too many cafes and restaurants for my liking, but then it does give you plenty of choice for places to eat. I would definitely go back with my family.
