Fernie Alpine Resort was was an incredible a ski resort although 'resort' doesn't seem to define the place very well. We found Fernie to be a very local ski community rather than a vacation spot. Everything was a bit rugged, including the mountain. The best runs were tree covered and deep in powder. The best place to be in town was Griz Bar where we heard some great music at night. Tickets are a bit expensive for what it is. It isn't a fancy resort destination. Accommodation was cheap enough though as we just stayed in a cheapo hotel of which there are many. Great for my group of friends but I wouldn't make it a family destination.
