Just returned from a wonderful weekend in Cap Ferret in South West France. Bordeaux airport is approximately 40 minutes away and is easy to get to from Gatwick, Bristol, Southamption and other airports. Cap Ferret is relatively unknown to British tourists and is less popular, and less spoit, than the South of France - no traffic jams and flash cars. The weather is slightly less predicable, being on the Atlantic Ocean, but other than that it's a great choice for a holiday. Fantastic restaurants - we ate at a different and always delicious restaurant twice a day - plently of seafood, oyters, mussels and always lots of garlic. Cap Ferret is on a small peninsular - on one side is the Atlantic with miles of empty beach and great surf, and the other side is a "Basin", which is great for sailing and other watersports. On Sunday there's a good market for food, clothes and other stuff. We'll definitely be returning! Tour Operator: Independent
