Good for families and beginners - Duncan Anderson. Date of travel: Mar 2007
La Plagne is not the pretiest resort, but it has an enormous ski area, which is linked to Les Arcs via a huge cable car which ferries skiers over the mountain. We went during the French half term (early March) which meant some of the queues were terrible with ski schools queue barging and grumpy lift attendants. The weather was good, but the snow was patchy on the lower slopes and slushy in the afternoon. Some excellent runs are available, and lots of options in La Plagne for keen ski people. The snow conditions above 1600m were pretty good (but wet and patchy below this). La Plagne nightlife is nothing to shout about but there’s a good place in La Plagne 1800 named La Mine which has good beer, some live music and a great apres ski atmosphere. Other than that La Plagne lacks the atmosphere of the other big resorts such as Meribel, Courcheval, Verbier etc. But in summary, it’s a good ski destination for families and beginners and intermediate skiers – but try somewhere else if you’re more experienced or after more alpine atmosphere.

Its a great place. Really worth a visit. I cant be bothered to go on about specifics, all I'll say is: Go to La Plagne, you will have a great holiday. Tour Operator: Neilson

Hi Guys, Following James's interesting report I would also like to tell some holiday tales. You would have easily spotted me coming down the mountain with my slinky snake hips and giant pout (it's real I promise). Unlike James I'm really good at skiing and like to make sure everyone knows it! I have to flag up for you big boys out there that La Plagne is reaaalllly gay friendly as me and my partner Ronan found out (there was some naughtiness in the deep foam at the great party in that excellent nightspot the Bridge). Can't wait for next year (Ronan can't either) Tour Operator: Skiworld

I really enjoyed my holiday tho i did fall over rather a lot - ha ha ha !!!! I'm not very good at skiing and I really should have been wearing better trousers than just a pair of golf waterproofs. The resort was great, tho i slept a lot and so didnt really get out much (I suffer from narcolepsy which makes red runs slightly treacherous). I'm going to go skiing again with my friends this year. Lots of love to all my fellow ski-enthusiasts Tour Operator: SkiWorld
