Val d'Isere is quite a stunning resort and I would recommend it to anyone. Even if you're not a skier, you will be more than welcome to join in the apre ski and there is a great selection of spas available and lots of fun things to do. If you're a skier or snowboarder then Val D'isère is your oyster, snowparks, off piste, more than 100 lifts... And while you're up here make sure you tune into Radio Val D'isère, on 96.1 or listen online.

Just a typical chalet in the Alps, Val d'Isere - Sassy. Date of travel: Jan 2009
We have just returned from our family holiday ski trip to Val d'Isere. The resort is great for skiing. Though it is getting very expensive in Europe now with the low rate of the Pound against the Euro. This is our first time with Esprit and thought as we had picked a Chalet Hotel and all that it encompasses as they say in the brochure - we would experience a better holiday than our normal budget one. The difference - only our evening meal really. Our 2.5 year old was enroled in the nursery. He hated it from day one and has returned to the UK a tormented child - what did they do to him. He has gone back to wetting himself! Why could they not have a TV to entertain the children if only for an hour in the morning to calm them down. There was also a very bad smell of drains ? In the nursery and quite a few poeple suffered tummy upsets during that week including our son. The rooms are typical basic ski rooms - very battered in places and the bathroom could have done with a better clean. The staff though were very helpful. The only downside with food was no Weetabix for the children - can be found in the local shop around the corner for 4.5 Euros box of 24 !! and having you evening wine taken away whilst having being served your pudding. What do they do with the half empty bottles ? Cheese and biscuits were served in the small lounge area. Not sure if I would pick an Esprit holiday again - Our holiday with Crystal the previous year was much more successful.

love it! - Archie. Date of travel: Mar 2007
Val d'Isere is one of my favourite resorts, the skiing is excellent and it's easy to ski over to Tignes if you want to try somewhere new. There's also lots of off-piste skiing if you are lucky with the snow and you can hire a guide via the tourist office in town. Val d'Isere is very popular with British skiiers, and Dicks bar and others are packed every night. It's always a good laugh.

Great skiing, some of the best off piste in Europe. The town is packed full of English, hardly a Frenchman in sight. Dicks TBar is the best club but get there early as the queues are long. Enjoy! Tour Operator: Simply Ski
