MARMARI HOLIDAY REVIEWS
Relaxing - Kathy Stern. Date of travel: Aug 2007
We were on holiday in Marmari in August. It is a very ‘German’ resort and us Brits were outnumbered. But there is a regular bus which goes to Tigaki (just 5 minutes away) and on to Kos town (20 minutes away) if you wish. Tigaki is a typical British holiday resort with pubs, gift shops, bars, restaurants etc.. small but has everything you want. It's worth going to Tigaki for the restaurants and bars, but I loved the rural isolation of Marmari. The beach and the surrounding countryside is lovely, and the weather during our holiday was amazing. The small village of Zia, up in the mountains is well worth an evening visit (see photo), for kids there is a good water park nearby and on the otherside of Kos Town there are some warm natural springs that are work visiting. In general we found Greece quieter and more chilled than most Mediterranean countries, and once you are there much cheaper than Spain, the Balearics or the Canaries. Our holiday to Marmari was the most relaxing and enjoyable I have ever had.
