Mastihari the' Real Greece' - Pauline Egan. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Quiet traditional Greek village. Turn back the clock to the 'Original Greece' and enjoy a warm welcome from the villagers in Mastihari. All necessary amenities available except ATM machine and pharmacy. Both available in next village Antimachia, 2km away.
Loved it - Jill M. Date of travel: Aug 2007
Mastichari is a fairly small resort and not that popular with Brits, mostly Germans and Eastern Europeans. If you are looking for a lively resort this is not the place – try Kos Town or Kardamena as they’ve got many more bars, shops and restaurants etc and a bit of nightlife. The beach in Mastichari is nice and safe for children, it is cleaned of seaweed each morning by a tractor. There are lots of sunbeds. The island of Kos is very beautiful and definitely worth exploring. In general we have had a lovely relaxing holiday in Mastichari and would definitely recommend it to others.
Where one can find some of the most beautiful beaches on Kos - Thomas. Date of travel: Jul 2006
Where one can find some of the most beautiful beaches on Kos
Approximately 3 kilometres northwest of Antimachia lies the village of Mastichari, where one can find some of the most beautiful beaches on Kos. The port is always full with fishermen that provide daily the local tavernas with fresh fish. And guess what: Another festival, the Mastichari Wine Festival, where you should go if you love home made wine, local delicacies and Greek music. Mastichari is also your gate to the neighbouring island of Kalymnos, since daily cruises are available from the port of the village.
