Argassi - Very good - Chloe . Date of travel: Jul 2009
Overall Argassi resort is a lovely place, the beach is a two minute walk and on the way there, there is a whole load of shops. For the beach, there isn't a lot of sand but there is enough. There is a whole load of water sports, we tried the Padeloes. We went on a trip to Lagana that was very good fun, as we were Turtle Spotting!
I loved Argassi - Su. Date of travel: Jun 2007
The resort of Argassi is bustling but maintains the Greek charm, avoid the Chinese and fast food restaurants, there are loads of traditional Greek tavernas that offer delicious Greek dishes! Whilst in Argassi, I recommend getting the tourist bus that runs to zante town and back several times a day, we went in the evening, plenty of great restaurants to choose from (takes 10 mins max), we took the local bus to the waterpark which turned up on time & was cheap, waterpark worth a visit, we took a local tour operator excursion to the loggerhead turtles... was not disappointed. Have to say though that this boat trip does offer you the chance of swimming in the caves, the water is very deep, so if this is not to your liking - maybe wasted time on this trip. Argassi good location to explore the whole island, and only 10mins transfer from the airport! We loved it and are a young couple ... I can imagine would suit all ages. (and the weather reached 36C/100F ).
Argassi is nice, not a massive resort just 2 main streets - Carol & Andy. Date of travel: Jun 2007
All the beach bars had lovely sunbeds with deep comfy cushions on them which were free to use if you just bought drinks snacks from the bar, etc. Beach was very narrow. At the place we went down to beach is clean, there are plenty of tavernas and bars to choose from. Not rowdy people just enjoying themselves, plenty of car bike quad hire places along with places to book trips, there were a good selection of shops supermarkets ect, there is a nice crazy golf place there, all in all a nice place to stay but would probably only stay for a week. We went on to Tsilivi for the other 11 days of our holiday which was brilliant, weather fantastic into the late 30C up to 40C while we were there. Try it and enjoy!!!!
Family orientated - Jim Miles. Date of travel: Jun 2006
Argassi is in the south of Zante, just a below Zakynthos. It's fairly family orientated, we went there with our kids, and loved it. Lots of good bars and restaurants, beach is not the white sand you see in the brochure with quite a lot of rocks and pebbles, but there are sandy bits and children loved playing in rockpools. If you go on holiday to Argassi, go on the boat trips to visit nearby island of Kefalonia or nearby caves. There's not much nightlife in resort but you can go to Zakynthos which is only three miles away.
