Candolim - Dee and Viv Davies. Date of travel: Mar 2007
We found Candolim just right for us, not too sprawling, with some interesting shops and roadside stalls, and fabulous eating places. It was food heaven for us. The beach was good, clean, with great shacks and attentive friendly staff, no more so, than Lois, his wife, and Sam and the rest of the staff at "Wagamamas" where we tasted the best ever pakoras, and watched the sun set with a cold drink in our hands. Thanks Lois hopefully we will see you again in 2008. We had a lovely taxi driver recommended to us by friends, who was an absolute gem helping us with everything. It certainly made our holiday that much more enjoyable having him with us and knowing he was only a phone call away.

Candolim is a nice place with a lovely beach, very busy but you really get the feel of Goa. Tour Operator: My Travel

First visit to Goa. Hotel Lui Beach is very basic, but in a lovely position with a well kept pool. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. To the south end of Candolim, I think the best end. Going to Goa is an experience in itself, and once the culture shock has hit home, it is a wonderful place, good value for everything. Food is a delight with sea food sent from heaven. will definitely be returning same time next year..no clouds for 14 days !!! Tour Operator: Jewel in the crown
Candolim - Pat Hopson. Date of travel: Jan 2006
Candolim is a lovely place, ideal for taking things easy or living it up if you want. Felt very safe whilst outside the hotel (except for the traffic) but you take care don't you once you know the score. Brill shops, tailors, jewellery and leather goods (fantastic fake bags) Jeweled shoes are great and a fraction of the cost in the UK. Easy to get from A to B with the use of taxis etc. No one seems to rip you off. We have booked for Jan 2008 and going to the same hotel.......that says it all doesn't it?
James, Alex. Date of travel: Feb 2005
The resort is great but... NOTE: STEER CLEAR OF 'HANELI BAR' AT THE FRONT OF 'CARMO LOBO' APARTMENT RESORT. Left my bag (with camera in amongst other things) there on the penultimate night and when I went round, fully expecting a grinning waiter to had me back my stuff (this would've been in line with what I'd expect given everyone else we'd met) I was met with the stoney face of the owner who claimed not to have seen anything, despite the fact that he was sat with some friends on the next table (and that the shopkeeper next door said he saw the bag - but didn't fetch it as he'd been threatened by the owner before). As this was discovered the morning of our departure we could do very little... So if you see the owner of above using a little Nikon digital camera, writing with a chromium pen and wearing Bloc sunglasses give him a damn good kick on the shin from me. - Rant over.
