Cortona
Made famous by the book and movie, “Under the Tuscan Sun”, the medieval town of Cortona crowns a hilltop overlooking Lake Trasimeno, its steep cobbled alleys and stone stairways echoing with the distant past and the footsteps of the hundreds who come to holiday here. The town boasts some of the oldest timber-beamed houses stillmore standing in Italy, a fascinating Etruscan museum, and a beautiful Franciscan Church.
