The Perhentian islands are amazing islands with great diving. Nice and chilled out and not really a party scene. The locals are lovely too!

We went to the Perhentian Islands on a recommendation from other travellers we met and had a beaut time. We stayed on Perhentian Kecil in an A-frame hut on the beach - really simple but cheap. There were lots of little beach restaurants to choose from all offering evening barbecues - our holiday stress was whether to have fish or chicken barbecue, chocolate pancake or lemon to go with the sunset! Some radical bodysurfing in the waves and a game of volleyball happened every afternoon - really cool. Otherwise there was nothing else to do but relax.
