Excellent Acapulco City Tour Guide Sighseeing Shore Excursion Trip
Coral Princess :- FT LAUDERDALE . ACAPULCO 22ND MARCH - 4TH APRIL 2OO9: We have just returned from Acapulco ( myself and wife ).We used the services of ' RUDY' TOUR BY VAN. I had arranged this tour of Acapulco independently on line before leaving the UK. True to his word 'Rudy' was waiting for us to disembark at the port. He took us on a wonderful tour of Acapulco. He speaks excellent English and what he doesn't know about Acapulco probably isn't worth knowing about. We stopped for lunch at a typical Mexican restaurant (El Zorrito - great food which Rudy recommended ) .At no time did he pressure us into anything not even the choice of the restaurant as he says it's your tour you make the decisions he didn't take us to his 'friends shop or restaurant '- you know what I mean. The transport provided is very clean and has air con and he also provides complimentary drinks. (I did have transfers provided in my hoiday package provided by princess cruises to my hotel from the port which i decided not to take up) Having corresponded with Rudy by email before leaving the UK he assured me that our luggage would be safe in the transport provided and supervised whilst on the tour WHICH IT WAS ll this meant that instead of checking in at our hotel we were able to go straight on a tour of Acapulco, or if you wanted he was prepared to take you to your hotel first. Our particular tour lasted approx 7 hrs with no extra or hidden costs -he took us to some places that we had not discussed in our itinerary which was an interesting and pleasant surprise. There was another couple of cruise critic members from the US with us on this tour. Rudy is a very informative tour guide and is very proud of his city and country he just can't do enough for you and i would highly recommend his services if he isn't the top tour guide in Acapulco he's got to be in the first 1 - YOU JUST CAN'T GO WRONG IN MY OPINION !!!!!!!!!!! Acapulco City Tour, The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
My family & I stayed at the Mayan Palace in Acapulco last week and had the best time both at the resort and with tourbyvan. (Find them on the Internet) We emailed them to have them meet us at the airport and take us to the hotel and then later to dinner. Upon arrival at ACA they were waiting as promised and had a wonderful attitude. Upon arrival at the hotel we made plans to meet up later and we checked in. The resort was everything that you have read about so far. It was absolutely immaculate and enormous. On the walk from the lobby area to the room we passed by the most beautiful pool area and couldn't wait to get back down to enjoy it. We met the guide of tourbyvan for dinner later and they took us to the most spectacular authentic Mexican food place that we all enjoyed. We set up a city tour with him the next day and when he showed up he had a booster seat for our son so he too could enjoy the tour. The whole vacation was great because of the wonderful combination of the Mayan Palace and tourbyvan. Be sure to contact them before you leave!
Tour in Acapulco - Winsted Jane. Date of travel: Jan 2009
Sometimes I think that the nicest thing Princess does for its passengers is the cold towels it provides when we return from a warm weather port such as Acapulco. And it was warm in Acapulco today. It was warm, not hot, only mid 80s but the humidity is rough on those of us unaccustomed to it. Fortunately, Rudy arrived in a large air-conditioned van to pick us up and was waiting on the pier when we cleared security. Born and raised in Acapulco, it shows he is being this for many years so his English is very good and easy to understand. We started the day with a tour of Fort San Diego, which is right across the street from the pier. Originally built in 1516 to protect Acapulco from pirates and any other invaders from the sea, it has a moat which used to contain water and alligators to deter trespass. After a drive through the Golden Zone of Hotels, restaurants and beaches, we went to the Chapel of Peace, to get a close-up view of the cross that looks out over Acapulco Bay. The Chapel is beautiful, with windows of onyx, and gardens of tropical plants. While we waited in the cool courtyard for Rudy to park the van, Fred got a chance to make the acquaintance of the first of three cats we encountered in Acapulco. The Chapel is not accessible by tour buses, which makes it a very peaceful, refreshing place to linger. I was amazed at Rudy’s ability to navigate that van through the narrow backstreets of the city on the way to the Old Town, where we made a stop to pick up a battery for Fred’s watch and a little shopping before heading to the other side of Acapulco for some dramatic views of the harbor. The surprise of the day, for me, was glancing out of the van window and seeing this incredible mosaic on the garden wall of a house along the way. Rudy stopped the van and took a few pictures for me from her window while she explained that a couple of years before Diego Rivera died, he moved into the Acapulco house of his friend, Dolores Olmedo, to recover from an illness. When well, he created the mosaic mural. It was a total surprise and one I will long remember. I didn’t know that any of his work was even in Acapulco, much less displayed on a wall on a side street. After our scenic stop we headed to the Miradores Hotel for the cliff divers, and arrived shortly before the 1:00pm show. When I was a child John Cameron Swayze used to do a commercial for Timex watch showing one of the divers making a dive with a Timex watch strapped to his wrist. The theme was, “Timex watch, takes a licking and keeps on ticking.” I couldn’t stop thinking of that commercial. Our final stop was the Flamingo hotel where the movie stars all stayed. Rudy even got us out to the round house that was renamed the Casa Tarzan in Johnny Weissmuller’s honor. In case you might be wondering, we were well pleased with Rudy’s tour and would highly recommend his services to anyone traveling down to Acapulco on either a Panama Canal or Mexican Riviera cruise. You want to find him just google his name Rodolfo rudy Fregoso. And this is the least I can do for the good time he made us have in Acapulco.

My Most Recent Trip to Acapulco, A Tour Review
It was warm when after clearing security we came out of the airport, only mid 80’s but the humidity is rough on those of us unaccustomed to it. Fortunately, Rudy arrived in an enormous windowed extended air-conditioned van to pick the 8 of us up and was waiting right outside. The Mayan Palace, where we stayed, was closer than we all expected, a good 10 minutes (I expected it further) my first impression was just wow, I can only recall about a hotel like this and it is another Mayan on the Cancun area. We were all kind of tired this day and we told Rudy to pick us up the day after for a City tour; He was born and raised in Acapulco; his English is very good and easy to understand. We started the day with a tour of Fort San Diego, which is approximately 30 minutes away from the Mayan in the very bay area the fortress was originally built in 1615 to protect Acapulco from pirates and any other invaders from the sea, it has a moat which used to deter trespass. After a drive through the Golden Zone of Hotels, restaurants and beaches, we went to the Chapel of Peace, to get a close-up view of the cross that looks out over Acapulco Bay. Just yahoo his name Acapulco Rodolfo Rudy Fregoso and you will find him, and I think this is the least I can do for someone who was so nice to us.
Acapulco - Shepherd. Date of travel: Nov 2007
Our entire trip was made more special by the exclusive use of Roberto Alarcon as our transportation providers. He is very fluent in English, a native to the area, and seems to have connections wherever you travel or for whatever attraction you may want to see. If they say they will be there at a certain time, THEY WILL BE THERE! We arranged transportation for the airport, ocean sea fishing, snorkelling, restaurants for evening meals (one marginal experience), city tours, wallmart and costco with Roberto. His prices were reasonable and exceptionally on time without worry. The Vans were all clean with working airconditioning; safe driving was important in the busy traffic. All in all it was an exceptional experience.

We travelled to Acapulco from Mexico city via executive bus which cost 24.00 each way for a 5 hour journey with loads of leg room and complimentary drinks and snacks. Acapulco is very busy and a bit run down. A long way from the glitz and glamour portrayed from the 60's. The beaches were sandy but the sea was quite rough, and a bit dirty. There were a lot of hawkers on the beach trying to sell souvenirs. We went and watched the cliff divers which were great. Eating out wasn't that easy. Tour Operator: independant
