Inviting beaches - Judy Strutt. Date of travel: Aug 2006
Mazatlan is one of oldest ports in Mexico and is now one of the most popular vacation destinations. More than one million Americans come here each year. The name Mazatlan translates to 'land of the deer'. The resort has almost ten miles of inviting sandy beaches. There is lots to do away from the beach. Most visitors spend their time in the Zona Dorada (the Gold Zone) where there are rows of hotels and condominiums, bars and restaurants, which overlook Mazatlan’s wonderful beaches and the outlying islands. Mazatlan’s islands offer the visitor excellent swimming, snorkeling, fishing, and diving.

Mazatlan: one-time trip for me - Dave Morris. Date of travel: Jul 2004
Travel from the airport to the hotel is pretty far. Generally, the restaurants sucked. Town was very dirty except the hotel zone. The beaches are rocky, not sandy slopes -not good for swimming. Mazatlan was not for me. Wouldn't go back.
