Praia da Gale - Rod & Renata. Date of travel: Oct 2006
Gale was our favourite beach though we had to drive there from our apartments so this year we have rented a three bedroom villa with own pool and within walking distance of Gale beach and restaurants. Last year we found this long sandy beach and had a couple of very languid days, swimming eating and sunbathing. I loved the layout of the sunbeds and with the restaurant just behind us we were well catered for. We are going September 30th 2006 and we can't wait. Will update when we get back

The resort of Praia da Gale is about 7 miles east of Albufeira and difference is chalk and cheese. Praia da Gale has the most wonderful uncrowded long sandy beach that stretches for miles. the resort is totally uncommercialised with about 10 restaurants and 4 bars scattered about. It was total paradise and a lovely place to unwind. We stayed at the Brisa do Mar apartments which were really comfortable and well equipped with a small pool. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach. Everything was fabulous. Tour Operator: Independent

Praie De Gale is a quiet resort with about 8 restaurants and 3 bars. Its very much a take it easy holiday and enjoying the wonderful uncrowded sandy beach that stretches for miles. Very much for the chill out merchants, if you want a night life forget it. Also there are 3 very good beach restaurants which is great place to watch the sun go down. Recommend the sardines.
