Arniston
Arniston is about two and a half hours from Cape Town, just beyond Cape Agulhas. Until recently Arniston was a small fishing village and it is characterised by whitewashed houses, many of which are now available as holiday lets. We rented a cottage really close to the main swimming beach and had such a relaxing holiday - swimming, snorkelling, exploring the surrounds etc. In the fishing village, Kassiesbaai, there is a restaurant called Willeen's - its actually the home of a family who use their front room as a little candle-lit restaurant and serve delicious local food - a great experience. We had a wonderful welcome from the family who served us a hearty meal including freshly caught fish, and the prices were incredibly cheap.
