FRANSCHHOEK HOLIDAY REVIEWS
Franschhoek
Nice Village - Marian. Date of travel: Mar 2008
I had exquisite dinners in Franschhoek at Ici and The Bon Vivant and French Connection. Lunch is great at Bread and Wine and Zen at Glen Carlou winery and Grande Provence. One can easily spend a week in Franschhoek and you won't get bored. Especially if you love food, wine, peace and quiet.

I loved Franschhoek - Rolf and Christina. Date of travel: Sep 2007
Franschhoek has a lot of good restaurants. We have been to Le Bon Vivant, which is French food, great taste and very nicely presented. Also ICI is very good, which is very casual. Special things on the menu. And great for just a nice steak and french fries is French Connection. We went one afternoon for lunch to Mont Rochelle which is a beautiful setting, lovely mountain views. The street with shops and galleries is very alive and the shops are very upmarket. The nice thing in Franschhoek is that you can walk almost anywhere.

You wont go back on an empty stomach - Linda Steere. Date of travel: Feb 2006
Franschoek is around 1 hour from Cape Town and well-worth the trip, even if it's just for the day. This small town is best known as the food capital of South Africa and has six or seven world-class restaurants including the Petit Femme, Quarter Francais, Reubens and Chamonix. Franschoek is surrounded by moutains and vineyards and the gardens are filled with white rose bushes and lavender. Lots of galleries and bars line the short high street and surrouding vineyards offer wine tastings and sell their produce. Franschoek is highly recommended for eaters and enjoyers of fine wine!

Beautiful - Claire McCallum. Date of travel: Feb 2006
Franschoek is a seriously nice place to spend a couple of days eating, drinking and looking at the views. We stayed at the Quartier Francais which has a great restaurant but others include La Petit Femme, just out of town in a great setting (our favourite 021 876 3106), La Grange (021 876 2155) and La Motte (021 876 3119). Boschendal is a nice wine farm for a picnic, tastings and a wander.
