KENTON-ON-SEA HOLIDAY REVIEWS
Kenton-on-Sea
Lovely beach, warm sea - Jimmy Pembroke. Date of travel: Sep 2006
Just returned from a few days holiday in Kenton-on-Sea. The town is on the Sunshine Coast in the Eastern Cape, only a hour from Port Elizabeth, which we flew to from Cape Town. Kenton-on-Sea is unspoilt compared to the Garden Route towns, and has the most magnificant long beach, backed by huge sand dunes. The sand is soft and white and the water is warm which makes a nice change from Cape Town. Kids can play in the surf all day without wet suits. There are water sports on offer in the estury, fishing, bird watching, hiking, mountain biking and lots of other activities. Also it is malaria free and close to lots of Game Reserves. Addo Elephant Park is 40 minutes away and only R200 for a day pass. We also went to Kariega which is 15 minutes inland and has the big five. Definately worth visiting. My family are coming out soon to visit us in Cape Town and I will recommend they spend a week of their holiday in Kenton-on-Sea, its the perfect combination of Beach and Safari.
