Beautiful! - Mickey, Katie, Joss and Em. Date of travel: Dec 2007
Langebaan is wicked. It looks a bit like Greece and the water was so much warmer than Camps Bay. The town was only an hour’s drive from the city and we all had such a great time. The Strandloper Restaurant was awesome. We went there at midday and watched the sun go down on the beach later that evening! It was so good to eat delicious seafood and drink chilled wine on the beach. Really a fantastic holiday in South Africa! Next time we come to Cape Town, we’ll definitely stay in Langebaan a bit longer.
Most beautiful beach in the Cape - Andy, Annie, Jen and Patrick. Date of travel: Mar 2006
The beach on the Langebaan lagoon is definitely the best in the Cape ... long, wide and sandy, with blue shallow water, but it can be very windy. The water is warmer than the open sea because it is a lagoon. The village is great with some good restaurants and interesting shops. The casino at Mykonos is close by and fun. Mykonos is a good place to stay if you go there, especially if you have kids.

We have a holiday apartment in this fantastic seaside village, and spend many an idyllic weekend and vacation here ... the weather is always great, even in winter, and of course in spring there is the added bonus of the wildflower bloom in the West Coast National Park just over the hill! Langebaan lagoon is turquoise blue, offering safe bathing and fun boating, fringed by a wonderful long, sandy beach. The Atlantic ocean on the West Coast is of course, pretty cold, but being a lagoon the sea here is a much more comfortable temperature. The little village itself has everything one needs for "apres beach" enjoyment ... lots of good restaurants, an entertainment park with waterslide, trampolines, game arcade etc. for the kids, and some really interesting little shops to browse through. Down the road a ways there is the Club Mykonos casino for when you feel like a flutter! Can't think of a better place for a holiday, and our apartment is right in the centre of it, twi blocks walk to the beach. We can't use it this summer so are wanting to rent it out. Sleeps six and has a pool, braai area too. Email me if you are interested: lupark50@hotmail.com.
