Paternoster
A beautiful fishing village along the west coast, Paternoster is a peaceful and romantic haven ideal for families and couples. Stay in one of the many white washed traditional fishing houses scattered along the bay and enjoy beautiful scenery, excellent kayaking, whale watching and pristine beaches, perfect for long walks and early morning swims. I've been living in Cape Town for 12 years now and Paternoster is still my favourite getaway holiday spot. Paternoster is less than two hours drive from Cape Town and is a working fishing village which has remained unspoilt. A number of holiday houses have poped up over the last few years but they are all tasteful, unlike those in Langebaan or even Hermanus. Paternoster Beach is endless and empty. White sands and icy waters. There is a small restaurant and a pub. Restaurant has great atmosphere and food is not bad, but I know people who have regretted the sea food platter in the morning. Better to buy fresh lobsters from the fishermen and braai. We rent from Paternosterholiday.com (lady called Lindray). Really nice - around R150/night/person. Tour Operator: none
