Figueretas ideal location for a beach break - A Quinn. Date of travel: Jun 2006
Figueretas is a quieter resort but does have bars,cafes and pubs.The beach is split into 3 parts backed by a promenade.Plenty sun loungers and in early June nice and quiet which was very relaxing. Plenty of supermarkets and for those who cant do without British grub try Mikes Kitchen. The Queen Vic & Moby Dicks 2 British pubs with very friendly and entertaining staff. Ibiza town is only a short walk & is buzzing but beware drinks can be expensive. Playa Den Bossa 10 min walk which is a livelier resort with larger busier beach,music pubs,clubs,restaurants and lots of shops.There is also a Water Park. Buses run from Bossa to all over the island as well as boat trips. We felt we had the best of both worlds & could have quiet or lively time due to the location.Would certainly return. I was a little disappointed with the resort of Figueretas as its quite residential and there was not many bars or pubs and the food wasnt good. Most restaurants offered chips and ice cream but not much else!! Ibiza town is nearby though - you can walk there. Ibiza town is great, lovely old town with great shops, restaurants and lively atmosphere. Nightlife is huge and doesnt even get going until midnight. Playa D Bossa is another resort and a 20 minute walk from Figueretas. It has lots of good places to eat and bars etc. There is a ferry service to Formentera from outside the hotel. This costs 15 euro return and you can either spend the day on the beautiful beaches over there or take an island tour for 5 euros. We visited the Hippy market on the boat, on the 50-minute cruise, the market is large and lively with loads of good things for sale, though quite pricey. A cheap bus service goes all around Ibiza island and goes to San Antonio and Portinax. I'd recommend this. In general we had a nice a relaxing holiday, we would return to Ibiza but we would not go back to this Figueretas. Ibiza is an amazingly beautiful place. Tour Operator: Thomson
