We stayed here the last week in April - 1st week of May. The weather was lovely. The beach clean & sea clear. Everyone spolit our son in the shops & restaurants. Would return. Great place for families.

Peaceful Matagorda - Lang. Date of travel: Feb 2008
Matagorda is a lovely peaceful part of Lanzarote. this area has a long wide and flat walkway/promenade which runs from nearly the airport to Los Pocillos area and is ideal for disabled people, walkers and children as it is traffic free at places. Lovely restaurants locally.

Matagorda is a great place to stay if you want to rent a bike go to the flistons bikes in the shopping centre there is a great selection of things such as car bikes, segways, inline skates and much more.

Quite a quiet area, but plenty of good bars and restaurants, right by the beach. If you want a livelier night it's only a short bus or cab ride (5 minutes) into PDC.

Matagorda - Andy Bostock. Date of travel: May 2007
Small village some 10 mins from airport. Only a couple of hotels and a few apartments. One medium sized shopping centre with a couple of small supermarkets and a dozen or so bars/restaurants. Other bars/shops/restaurants on beach front on way to PD Carmen. Very quiet and tranquil. Don't go here if you want to party, go to Carmen!

Located within a 5-minute drive of the airport, Matagorda is really a suburb of Puerto del Carmen and is a great place to relax. There is a small shopping centre with plenty of bars and restaurants and also two supermarkets. A car is not necessary as everything is close at hand, 5 minutes from the busy resort of Puerto del Carmen by taxi where there is a host of shops bars etc.
