Excellent Holiday - Helen Coates. Date of travel: Jul 2007
This is lovely wee quiet place, lovely down at the seafront with all the boats. There are not many shops so if you like shopping this isn't the place to go. It's not spolied by commercialism.
Holiday to Porto Colom - Chris & Sharon White. Date of travel: Jun 2007
Porto Colom is a known fishing town/harbour. There are a few shops and cafes but generally nothing going on for holiday makers. There is a glass bottom boat trip that is only of use if you want to see the coastline - as you can't or there is nothing to see under the water but sand and small fish - WASTE of €18 per head so don't bother unless you like boats and the coastline. The best thing if that's what you like is a very quiet night sleep once the hotel occupants have returned and not making a noise on the stairs, but generally the location is fine for peace and quiet, the hotel facilities are fine for what we paid all inclusive - the English side of breakfast was luke warm so don't bother if you like a hot fried egg and bacon etc. The entertainment was great via two British lads with a sense of humour! For the kids as well as the adults at the pool and evening entertainment. The area itself is very close to the sea and there is a beach 5 minutes from the hotel and not crowded like some are elsewhere. For shopping and better food go to Cala Dor as it's got the lot!!
