Cadiz
Being the oldest city in Europe, no-one who goes on holiday in Cadiz, south of Seville on the Spanish coast, can be immune to the history of this picturesque town. For today’s visitors, however, Cadiz is renowned more for having some of the loveliest beaches on its doorstep, and some verdant parks on the headlandsmore of the peninsula on which it sits; in the 16th Century the population watched Columbus set sail for the Americas from here.
