CHA-AM HOLIDAY REVIEWS
Cha-Am
Two hours from Bangkok - Jim Evans. Date of travel: May 2006
Cha-am is just two hours from Bangkok and has Thailand’s longest white sand beach. The resorts is not as well-known as the near Hua Hin resort and is more popular with local Thais rather than tourists and backpackers. It is fairly quiet on weekdays, but popular at weekends. There is a good selection of hotels set back from the beach. The Cha-am beach resorts is five miles north of the royal summer palace (Phra Ratchaniwet Marukhathayawan) of King Rama VI which is open to the public and well worth a visit.

TRACY COSTELLO. Date of travel: Oct 2004
Very very quiet resort. Not too much going on, and as it was Oct when we went and coming to end of rainy season, there were jelly fish in the sea which you had to be careful of. Can get some great excursions from here but for more life catch a taxi to nearby Hua Hin..Great resort. Both resorts are cheap to eat out with plenty choice. Please do not be tempted to stay by the hotel and eat do venture into Cha Am itself where there are cafe type Thai restaurants - very very cheap and very tasty (but not much choice for vegetarians). Regent Cha Am Hotel was too quiet for my liking, and no entertainment. AS it was Oct; our room also smelt of damp. Tour Operator: Kuoni
