Koh Pha Ngan
A mecca for the world’s young backpackers, most of those who take the ferry from the mainland to this paradisical island in the Gulf of Thailand come to holiday in Koh Pha Ngan mainly for its famed monthly Full Moon Party. The frenzied parties take place on Haad Rin beach, most of the revellers sleepingmore it off afterwards in the cheap thatched bamboo huts which festoon the island beaches. There are luxury hotels too, for the more discerning.
