PHUKET HOLIDAY REVIEWS
Phuket
Thailand’s largest island, Phuket, is also its most popular holiday destination, connected to the mainland by a bridge. Bustling and busy with crowds of tourists, the action centres along Patong Beach, where the night bazaar buzzes as much as the shopping malls do during the day. Phuket - we just loved this place. - Jonas. Date of travel: Jun 2009
We just came back from a holiday break in Phuket, Thailand. We didn't book anything but we managed to find this charming new resort in the South of Phuket, next to Nai Harn beach. 8 fully serviced apartments with swimming pool and garden; nobody there so we had the whole place just for us! The place is cozy and quiet at the same time; if you rent a motorbike, in a couple of minutes you are on the beaches while shops and restaurants are in walking distance. The owner and his wife are very kind people, always ready to give you the best advice so to avoid the so called "tourists' traps"!

Snuba diving in Phuket Thailand - UK Bill. Date of travel: Sep 2008
Snuba diving in Phuket Thailand is a fantastic experience for inexperienced divers. There was no certification required and after the 15 minute safety briefing we were in the water Snuba diving on a beautiful reef off of Coral Island, a short boat ride from Rawai, Phuket. ALOHA Phuket Diver took care of the transportation from our hotel and provided everything we needed during the trip. Snuba is a great family activity and easy to do. You can contact them by finding them on the Internet, search for Snuba in Thailand.

We keep going back - Ross and Sue. Date of travel: Jun 2008
We love everything about Phuket, we prefer to stay at Koran Beach or Kata. We find the bus into Phuket a great way to travel. Good shopping in Phuket TESCOs, Big Cs. Hire a scooter good fun but remember WEAR THE HELMET or it will cost you 500 Bt fine. The elephant treak is a great trip, Fantasea a must, James Bond Island well worth it, Snake Farm good stuff. We generally try and stay away from Patong.

Phuket - Now, Forever, Always! - Karen Swart. Date of travel: Apr 2007
Phuket is a diamond in the rough, so much potential on so little soil! The islands are a must-see and you cannot leave without trying an elephant ride and Thai Massage. Although the people are friendly - some areas overly friendly if you know what I mean - communication is a tad of a problem if you try the local attractions and routes. Public transport is a dream, but be careful not to be run over by drivers. Shopping is a hoot - if you like fake brands and small gifts for family and friends back home. Tailors are bordering on harrassment though. A must-see is Phi Phi (slightly touristy, but great)! Canoes at Phang Nga and Sukko Spa Thai Massages. For night owls, I strongly suggest Safari! What a hoot! Book at side street offices and not through hotels - they charge a lot extra. Definitely a perfect destination for any level of traveller! Mingle with the locals and enjoy!

Phuket town was a £8 taxi ride away from our hotel but this was a return fare and the driver will wait outside while you dine or shop or both for as long as it takes. "Naturals" is my top tip although "The Phuket View", "lemongrass" and "Annas" will all delight. Patong down the road is the Blackpool of Phuket with bars, resurants, ladyboys, tailors and a modacum of sleeze. Dont let me put you off it is an experience and folks go back for more. Back at the hotel you can chill out "The Light House" until the last customer leave. Sun and sand linked to great sights, eats and alround make a holiday to Phuket a top travel experience.
