Turtle Bay
Eileen Levin, Ray Levin. Date of travel: Apr 2004
We found a little bit of heaven on earth when we went to Hawaii for a week to the Turtle Bay resort on the north shore of Oahu. It is well away from the noisy glitz of Waikiki, and is a serene tropical paradise. Our suite overlooked the swaying palms framing a picture of blue rolling surf. We did go through to Waikiki for an evenig, but were only too pleased to get back to the relaxing peace of Turtle Bay. The whole resort covers more than 800 acres, so even though there are about 500 rooms and suites it never feels crowded. There is also a golf course, one of the best I ever played on. We also enjoyed the tennis (first class courts) and brushed up our game with the on site Nick Bollettierri Tennis Academy. Other than than it was delightful to explore Oahu’s northern white sandy beaches. We did a trail horseback ride and some snorkelling too. A week was just not enough and we are already saving for another, longer trip to paradise.
