Digging Stowe - Chad & Velvet. Date of travel: Dec 2008
Yesiree, Stowe is one seriously laid back town. I loved it. Skiing and snowboarding was mellow and good fun. It may not be as popular as Killington or Vail, but that's what I liked about this place. The slopes were far less packed than at other resorts which meant you felt like they belonged to you. My girlfriend and I were not expecting it to be so quiet here, but it actually made for a great romantic time away together. Go here if you're not amped about crowded resorts or worried about being seen somewhere cool. Go here because it's probably the most unpretentious resort I've been to.
