Getting Around

Getting around central Bulawayo is quite manageable on foot during the day, though walking at night is generally not recommended unless visitors are in well-lit or busy areas. Many visitors prefer to hire a car for added comfort and flexibility. Major rental companies such as Avis, Europcar, and Budget are available at Bulawayo Airport. While driving is convenient, some roads may be in need of repair.

Taxis are easy to find and are often light blue. For peace of mind, it's a good idea to use registered taxis or ride-hailing apps such as Bolt, InDrive, Hwindi or Vaya.

Minibus taxis, or kombis, are an affordable and popular local option, though they can be busy and may vary in condition.
