Gold Coast, Queensland Travel Guide
Irresistible to beach lovers, shopaholics, and socialites, the Gold Coast attracts visitors with about 35 miles (57 km) of golden coastline, some of Australia's largest and most impressive shopping centres, and a nightlife that buzzes throughout the year. The region is home to ancient and diverse subtropical rainforests, as well as popular wildlife sanctuaries, making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts and hikers as well as those seeking sun and fun.
The Gold Coast is one of Australia's fastest-growing cities and is frequently recognised for its lifestyle appeal, though the term 'Gold Coast' can also refer more broadly to the coastal region south of Brisbane, packed with resorts, theme parks, and beachside attractions.
Best time to visit Gold Coast
The Gold Coast enjoys a humid subtropical climate, with hot, humid summers and mild, drier winters. Summers (December to February) can be very warm, and afternoon rain showers are fairly common. While tropical cyclones rarely reach the area, storms can sometimes occur during summer. Many visitors prefer the warm, sunny, and mostly dry months from June to October.
