Grandvalira Travel Guide
Grandvalira is Andorra's largest ski area, with over 131 miles (210 kilometres) of ski runs linking six main areas: Pas de la Casa, Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo, and Encamp. Set in the heart of the Pyrenees, this beautiful mountain region is a true winter playground, offering something for everyone, from complete beginners to experienced skiers looking for more challenging terrain.
Soldeu sits near the centre of the resort and is especially popular with families and those learning to ski, thanks to its excellent ski schools. Nearby Pas de la Casa, right on the French border, has a livelier vibe and is a favourite among younger visitors for its energetic après-ski scene. Grandvalira is best known for its beginner and intermediate slopes, which are wide, well-groomed, and ideal for building confidence. That said, there are also some exciting black runs and off-piste areas for those after a bit more adventure.
There's plenty to do off the slopes too. Snowmobiling, dog sledding, ski biking, and tubing are all on offer, along with freestyle parks and beginner zones for kids and families.
Thanks to its high elevation and a top-notch snowmaking system, Grandvalira usually has great snow throughout the season. The lift system is modern and efficient, so it's easy to move around the resort without spending too much time waiting in line.
Whether visitors are learning to ski, planning a fun family trip, or chasing fresh powder, Grandvalira is a fantastic choice for a winter getaway in the stunning Pyrenees.
