Getting Around
Tunis has an extensive public transportation network, including buses, the light rail system (Metro léger), and the TGM train connecting the city to northern suburbs such as La Marsa. Operated by TRANSTU, these services are affordable, with some night fare increases. Much of the city is walkable, especially the central areas. Taxis are easy to find (passengers should be sure the meter is used) and local ride-hailing apps such as Bolt and IntiGo are available (Uber and Lyft do not operate). While cars can be rented, they aren't necessary for city travel. Driving requires caution, as road conditions vary and local drivers can be unpredictable.
