Things to do in Anguilla

Anguilla is defined by its clear turquoise waters and soft white-sand beaches; the kind that leave a lasting impression. The island offers ideal conditions for water-based activities such as sailing, kayaking, and windsurfing, all set against a backdrop of calm seas and open skies.

Beneath the surface, Anguilla has quietly earned a reputation as the wreck-diving capital of the Caribbean. Several shipwrecks lie just offshore, now transformed into vibrant habitats for coral and marine life including angelfish, barracuda, turtles and reef sharks. With minimal current and excellent visibility, the waters are well suited to both snorkelling and beginner scuba diving. Shallow reefs close to shore showcase a rich variety of hard and soft corals in vivid colour.

Sport fishing also has a strong presence, with local charters offering half- and full-day excursions targeting species such as marlin, dorado, barracuda and grouper.

On land, Anguilla moves at a gentler pace. Walking trails allow for quiet exploration, while the island's salt ponds attract more than 100 bird species, including herons, sandpipers and other waders.
